[Stream] Wild Flag- “Glass Tambourine”

Last year, we got word that Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney/Portlandia), Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney/Quasi), Mary Timony (Helium) and Rebecca Cole (Minders) had formed a band called Wild Flag—an indie-rock supergroup if you will.

The foursome are still at work (or are currently working) on their first full-length due out in early Fall.  Thankfully, we don’t have to wait till Fall to hear what Wild Flag have to offer. As part of Record Store Day, which takes place on April 16, the foursome will drop their first studio-recorded tunes in the form of a Britt Daniel (Spoon) produced 7″ vinyl single. The single will feature a-side “Future Crimes” and b-side “Glass Tambourine.”

“Glass Tambourine,” according to Carrie Brownstein, “…starts off as a warped pop song and then veers into something more psychedelic. There are melodies, harmonies and then a fair amount of chaos.”  You can check out the warped, and psychedelic chaos, if you’re so inclined, over at NPR’s All Songs Considered Blog as part of their exclusive song premiere.

The 7″ vinyl single is out 4/16 via Merge.
