FKA twigs

FKA twigs has shared a new song titled, “Good to Love.” It was produced by Rick Nowels, and by twigs.  Below is the self-directed video for it. On February 24, she’ll perform the song on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.” Set your DVR’s.

The lineup for the 2016 edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is here. If you put aside the fact that all three headliners were leaked—and in some way confirmed—several months ago, there are some actual surprises in the mix. Such as the return of Underworld, and the appearance of Ice Cube, Sufjan Stevens and, well, Sia. That said, apart from some glaring omissions (see: Kendrick Lamar, D’Angelo, Slowdive, and Sleater-Kinney, to name a few) this lineup is actually stacked.

Friday is insane, and will more than likely end up being cluster-fuck-chella when it comes to set-times, and conflicts. Especially towards the end of the night. Saturday has the possibility of being one as well, but on a slightly smaller scale. And Sunday will be the mellowest day of the three, since it’s the least stacked of them. All in all, there’s a lot that I want to see, and not a whole lot that I don’t. Which in years passed hasn’t always been the case, and for this reason I’m actually content with the lineup. That’s just odd.

The remaining allotment of wristbands, of which I’m sure there aren’t many, go on-sale on Wednesday January 6 at 11am. Instructions for that whole process is available here. And, while you wait, you can get yourself in the mood by playing this Coachella primer. See you there.

2015 was a great year for music; we saw the return of old favorites—Sleater-Kinney, Kendrick Lamar, Beach House—and the appearance of some new ones—Leon Bridges, Julien Baker, and Beach Slang. As it tends to happen every year, there was a lot to take in; singles, ep’s, mixtape’s, and albums. In the end, the list of albums below are the ones that provided the soundtrack to my year.

Beach House-Depression Cherry

Beach Slang- The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us

Belle & Sebastian- Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance

Courtney Barnett-Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit

Death Cab For Cutie-Kintsugi

Everything Everything-Get To Heaven

Foals-What Went Down

Grimes-Art Angels

Jamie xx-In Colour

Julien Baker-Sprained Ankle

Kendrick Lamar-To Pimp A Butterfly

Leon Bridges-Coming Home

Panda Bear-Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper

Ryan Adams-1989

Sleater-Kinney-No Cities To Love

Sufjan Stevens-Carrie & Lowell

There they are. The 20 albums that I played consistently throughout 2015. To those of you that read this, thanks for sticking around. I’ll see you next year.
