[MP3] The Diamond Shape EP-Nathaniel Eras

In the coming weeks I’ll, hopefully, be compiling (and posting) my middle of the year Best Of—albums, EP’s, songs—list. Until then, I can, without a shadow of doubt, tell you that the new EP by L.A. producer/remixer Nathaniel Eras will be included in my list.

The EP is called the Diamond Shaped EP, and it’s, for lack of a better word, sick! In all honesty, it was hard for me to pick a favorite out of the four tracks that comprise the EP. Yet, in the end, I felt that EP closer “Ever” provided the best example of the sheer awesomeness of it.

“Ever”—like the rest of the EP— has this apocalyptic sound to it. Suffice to say that, its glitchy electronic drum n’ bass-esque sound would be the perfect soundtrack to a certain impending 2012 Phenomenon. Especially from the 1:20 mark and on.

Until then, you can grab the entire EP for FREE(!) over at Nathaniel’s Bandcamp page.  If you like this, you should also check out his previous release Unearthed —music he composed for a 2008 reinterpretation of the 1922 film Nosferatu—on Track Number Records. It, like the EP, is awesome.

I almost forgot to mention that the dude is also prolific. He has a new album coming out called, PORTALS via Track Number Records in the near future so keep your eyes, and ears peeled for that one. I know I will.
