[MP3] Pepepiano- “Millenium Wet Dream”

I may have mentioned this already (or not) but, as of late, I’ve been experiencing a bad case of “writer’s” block. Nothing I write has been any good (or worth posting). Which, to be honest, isn’t saying much. Because it’s not like I’m busting out Walt Whitman-esque prose on this here music blog. I’m not even being self-deprecating about this either. It’s the truth. The point of this random aside is to let the two—or three—of you that read this know that I haven’t thrown in the towel, and sent this blog into the aether. I’m still here and (hopefully) will be publishing more frequently. At least that’s my desire.

Random diatribe aside, I’ve been slowly (perhaps way too slowly!) working my way through my 2011 queue of albums that I’ve yet to listen to. One of the albums I recently listened to comes from Laguna Beach resident David Bird who records under the alias Pepepiano. Bird’s bedroom “laptop” compositions can be described as chillwave or spacey-electronica; in other words, something that I’m a fan of. Particularly “Millenium Wet Dream” a song off the self-titled Pepepiano.

I like the way the wavelike vocals float (and stutter) slightly over the beat. Plus that breakdown forty-two seconds in is kind-of-cool. However, the coolest part of Pepepiano’s self-titled album, aside from it being good is that it’s free! No, seriously. It is. If you like the above song, you can grab the entire thing here. It’s worth the click.
