[MP3] Explosions In The Sky- “Trembling Hands”

In 2009, Texan post-rock quartet Explosions in the Sky, celebrated their tenth-year of existence. If you ask me, that’s quite an achievement for any band, let alone one that’s made a career out of entirely instrumental songs. But that’s beside the point, the point is, in that existence, EITS have continued to push their sound into new and exciting territories. Case in point: “Trembling Hands.”

I’m not going to lie, I was a little thrown off when I heard the opening riff. If it weren’t for my iTunes display telling me other wise, I could have sworn I was about to listen to an Interpol song.  It was only after the immediate introduction of the drums, and —surprising, for an Explosions song—the vocal stabs throughout it that I began to think otherwise. One thing is for certain though, this song is, quite possibly, unlike anything they’ve done. I’d would even go as far as saying that, the only resemblance it has to its predecessors is its quality. That being, it’s really good.

These dudes never cease to amaze me.  Listen to it below.
