[MP3] Adele- “Rolling In the Deep (The Soundmen Remix)”

I’ve been sitting on this post for awhile now. Not because I couldn’t think of anything to write, but because I’ve been battling a pretty vicious cold for the past week or so. Thankfully with the help of rest, Thera-Flu, and vitamin C, I’ve, for the most part, kicked its butt. I’m finally starting to feel normal (and happy) again.

I have to say though, when I was sick, I didn’t spend too much time listening to full albums. I mostly just sat around and listened to whatever songs I thought would make me feel better, or at least happy throughout the sickness. One song that I seemed to gravitate towards a lot was the Soundmen Remix of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.”

In its original form, “Rolling in the Deep” is, without a shadow of doubt, my favorite song off Adele’s spectacular sophomore album 21. It’s kind-of-perfect, so I was, at first, a little apprehensive when I heard of the remix. Most of this apprehension stemmed from the fact that I doubted anyone could improve on it or give it a fresh and interesting perspective.

I’m glad that production duo the Soundmen eased my apprehension and doubt. With their help, “Rolling in the Deep” goes from a catchy soulful number to an equally catchy indie-dance-pop song.

Like I said, it’s great. Take a listen, or grab it above.
