New Music

Last year, Kendrick Lamar and SZA released albums that ended up on many Best Of/Favorite Albums of 2017 lists; for Kendrick that was his album DAMN, and for SZA that was her album Ctrl. Both were solid from beginning to end and were a force to be reckoned with in their respective genres. Earlier today, the duo dropped a collaboration in the form of “All the Stars,” a song off the upcoming Marvel movie, Black Panther. While the partnership doesn’t match the ferocity of their respective albums, it does still show what talents the two of them are, despite the tame outcome.

There you have it. In alphabetical order, twenty-five records that have been soundtracking my days over here at Something For All of Us. This list is not at all final. I’m sure in the upcoming months some will be added, and some will fall by the wayside.  What have you been listening to lately? Email me your lists. I’m genuinely curious.

If you’re a long-time reader of this site, you’ll recognize the name ERAS. I’ve written about him a couple of times, and as you can tell, I’m a big fan of his electronic-soundscapes.

Below is the video for “Angels,” a track off his upcoming (and highly anticipated over here) full-length album Purified.  Featuring Grace Hall (of Skin Town) on vocals, “Angels” is a layering of synths over brief drum beats. One word to describe it would be, hypnotic. It’s already making its way onto my Favorite Tracks of 2016 List. Check it out.

Purified is out May 27 via Track Number Records.
