It’s right around this time of year that the rampant “who’s playing Coachella?” rumors and hearsay start to spread. One constant rumor going around is that, next years edition of the fest, will have French electronic duo Justice returning to the festival’s stage after a four year period away. This, to me, of course, makes perfect sense. Here’s why: They’re about to release their highly anticipated sophomore album entitled Audio, Video, Disco and judging from the tracks that “leaked” this weekend, it’s shaping up to be a big one—sonically that is.

Newly leaked tracks, “Newlands” and “Canon,” touch on the 70′s Prog-Rock/Arena Rock vibe that inspired the French duo—comprised of Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé—during the making of their sophomore LP. A sound that, as mentioned, is sure to fill up the wide-open polo field perfectly. Out of the two, I’m enjoying the straight-up 70′s rock with the tinge of electronica feel of “Newlands.” Because of it, I’m hoping that the speculation of Justice playing next year’s Coachella is, well, more than just rumors and hearsay.
