Kendrick Lamar

Last year, Kendrick Lamar and SZA released albums that ended up on many Best Of/Favorite Albums of 2017 lists; for Kendrick that was his album DAMN, and for SZA that was her album Ctrl. Both were solid from beginning to end and were a force to be reckoned with in their respective genres. Earlier today, the duo dropped a collaboration in the form of “All the Stars,” a song off the upcoming Marvel movie, Black Panther. While the partnership doesn’t match the ferocity of their respective albums, it does still show what talents the two of them are, despite the tame outcome.

The line-up for the 2017 edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is here. Like last year, this year’s trio of headliners—Radiohead, Beyoncé, and Kendrick Lamar—come as no surprise seeing as they leaked several months ago.

That aside, the line-up has its share of surprises. Case in point: Hans Zimmer. Yes. The film composer Hans Zimmer. This performance is one I’m looking forward to seeing. Other surprises of note come in the form of Toots & the Maytals, Lee Fields and the Expressions, and Röyksopp. Other notable artists performing at Coachella 2017 are, Bon Iver, The xx, Lorde, New Order, BANKS, Justice, The Avalanches, S U R V I V E, Four Tet, Richie Hawtin, Kaytranada, Mitski, and Car Seat Headrest.

For those who are looking to score a wristband for either weekend of Coachella, the remaining allotment goes on sale 1/4 at 10am. Good luck! If you need to some background music for your wait, click here.
