Beach House Announce New Album, And World Tour

Depression Cherry, the follow-up to 2012’s Bloom, marks the duo’s 5th full-length record and it was recorded at Studio in the Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana from November ’14 through January ’15. The record, according to the duo, marks “a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and a few instruments, with live drums playing a far lesser role.”

That’s the cover art below. Both the sleeve for the LP and the CD will be made of actual red velvet. With a limited, “Loser Edition,” on clear vinyl available for pre-order on Sub Pop’s website while supplies last. As for its name, “Depression Cherry is a color, a place, a feeling, an energy… that describes the place you arrive as you move through the endlessly varied trips of existence…”

Legrand, and Scally will embark on a world tour starting in mid August with a two night stop at the Fonda Theatre on 12/8 and 12/9. Tickets for these two shows go on sale this Friday, May 29, at 10:00 a.m. via AXS for $30.00 each plus service fees.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I think they’re, come January 2o16, going to be on the line-up poster of that festival that takes place in the So Cal desert. What’s it called it again?
