“I realize that I will never fully understand the millions of bizarre ways that music brings people together.”
— Rob Sheffield (Love Is a Mix Tape)

Something for All of Us is a Los Angeles based music blog founded by me, Michael Rosas, a record-store geek, at the beginning of 2009. I, mainly, started the blog as a means to put my many thoughts on music somewhere—a sort of internet music journal per se. This “journal” is built around my immense love for music; whether it be new or old, indie-rock, pop, hip-hop, or whatever else happens to be flowing through my speakers or headphones at the time.

This blog is in its, if memory serves me right, the fourth edition. Before being called Something for All of Us, it was called Indoor Swimming at the Space Station, and before that, some other name I can’t quite remember. Both of these previous versions were hosted by Blogger.

In 2009, I left Blogger and joined WordPress, chose a template and name—Something for All of Us—and started blogging with more frequency. At the tail end of 2010, the site had its first significant overhaul; host, template, you name it. Unfortunately, during the revision, a majority—if not all—of its entries before 2011 were either deleted or screwed up. Bummer I know, but there’s not much I can do about that.

That said, all posted materials are for sampling/promotional purposes only; If you like what you hear, buy an album, go to a show and buy some merch. Support music, the arts, and your local record stores—believe me, they’re still around!

All that said, if you represent an artist or you are the artist featured on this page and feel that a file or link should be removed, feel free to send me an email and I’ll remove it as soon as possible.

Also, Something for All of Us listens to label and artist submissions, screenings, and promos. While I can’t guarantee a post, if you’d like to send something my way, send me an email at:

In the same way, if you’d like to send me a hello, music tip, or a simple “you suck,” send me an email at:

I read it all.
